AMS POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE ORGANIZES “SAY NO TO DRUGS – YES TO LIFE”
ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
Held on 09 December 2025 at College Campus

AMS Polytechnic College successfully conducted an awareness programme
titled “Say No to Drugs – Yes to Life” on 09.12.2025 at the college campus,
aimed at educating students on the harmful effects of drug abuse and
promoting a healthy, disciplined lifestyle.

The programme featured key officials from the Government of Tamil Nadu’s
Drug-Free Mission.
T. Mariya Jusler Kalsingh, Mission Management Unit, Drug Free Tamil Nadu –
Home, Prohibition & Excise Department, addressed the students and
emphasized the need for youth to stay vigilant and make responsible life
choices.

Thiru. S. Ponsankar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Prohibition
Enforcement Wing, Avadi, and
Thiru C. Krishnan, Inspector of Police, T8 Muthapudupet Police Station
(L&O), Pattabiram Range, Avadi Police Commissionerate, also delivered
impactful sessions. They highlighted the legal consequences of drug abuse,
the psychological impact on young minds, and the importance of community
vigilance.

The event was presided over by Prof. A. Khadeer Ahmed, Principal, AMS
Polytechnic College, who encouraged students to actively participate in
awareness drives and become ambassadors of a drug-free society.

Prof. Dr. K.G. Parthiban, Principal, AMS College of Engineering, and
Dr. Suresh Kumar, NSS Officer, AMSCE, graced the programme with their
presence and appreciated the initiative.

Students interacted enthusiastically during the session, raising questions
and showing keen interest in understanding the societal impact of drug
consumption.

The programme was co ordinated by Ms. P. Hemalatha, Physical Director &
Anti-Drug SPOC, and Er. N. Rangarajan, Head, Department of EEE & Anti-Drug
Club Coordinator, along with the dedicated college team.
